Marcia was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on August 27, 1952, to Carolyn and Joseph Brewer, both predeceased her. Her father was a pilot for the US Air Force, so her family moved often. During a three-year stint in Évreux, France, the family toured through much of Europe in a Volkswagen camper, instilling in Marcia a life-long love of travel.
She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1970 and then from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974. Marcia had a long, flourishing, and successful career with 3M Dental company, winning many awards as a national top performer. Marcia formed many friendships over the years with her colleagues and dental offices she served throughout Texas. In her retirement years, Marcia continued her travels, her favorite trips being an African safari and San Miguel de Allende.
She brought so much energy to every room she walked in and had a unique way to make you feel special. She had a very kind heart and was always willing to help her friends. She was known for a witty sense of humor, her beautiful smile and was an avid reader.
She had a compassion for animals and rescued many cats and dogs throughout her life. that she lovingly called her "babies" and we know she is reunited with them all.
Marcia is survived by her sister, Betsy Chaffee (husband George); her niece, Lauren Sherwood (husband Scott); three great nieces, all from Fort Worth; and her aunt, Nancy Brewer of Austin.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to Devereaux and Jane Ann Temple, Mario Baiza and Linda Uribe for the loving care they gave to Marcia in the last few years.
A private celebration of life will be planned for family and friends. Memorial gifts can be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
