Surrounded by her family, Margaret Smithson Dean passed away October 12th, 2013, her 86th birthday. She was born October 12, 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee to Jasper Green Smithson and Eloise Willson Smithson.
She graduated from Memphis Central High School in 1945, then worked as a medical secretary until she met the love of her life, William Edwin (Bill) Dean on a blind date. They married September 27, 1952 at Temple Baptist Church, in Memphis Tennessee. In 1954, Bill and Margaret moved to San Antonio, Texas when Bill was transferred by his employer. A faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1958, Margaret loved singing with the Chorale, and later the SonShineSingers.
She treasured the learning and friendships she developed over 50 years as a member of Discmus Study Club. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, travelling and in later years playing dominoes with friends and family. Margaret's family was always important to her and she loved hearing about the activities of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
