From attending a boarding school in England to riding on a trail ride in Houston, Margaret experienced and travelled around most of Europe, Africa, and Canada. A member of the San Antonio Watercolor Society, Margaret had a passion and flair for the arts; painting and selling many of her watercolors at Little Studio Art Gallery #23 in La Villita. She also loved to knit for family, friends, and charities. Taking care of nature in her backyard in La Vernia was also something she enjoyed, feeding the hummingbirds, finches and red birds; foxes and deer, even the honeybees would have water replenished daily. Margaret was a fierce competitor in a “friendly” game of cards like Spades, Canasta, and Mexican Rummy. Family remembers Margaret as “larger than life; she was so sparkling and accomplished and had the most wonderful smile.”
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Amos and May Bradley; son, Collin Mark Teague; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Teague.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Smith; daughter, Shelly Rote and husband DeWitt Rote; granddaughters, Sophie Godwin and Lucy Rote; grandson, William Rote; her brother Colin Bradley and many other family members and lifelong friends.
