He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito Sr., and Felicitas Martinez; wife, Madeline T. Martinez; daughter, Martha Martinez; son, Mark Martinez; brothers, Kiko Martinez and Tom Martinez; granddaughters, Tracy Martinez and Zachary Martinez. He is survived by his children, Michael G. (Mickey) Martinez, Margaret (Moe) Valadez (Marshall), Melinda (Ginger) Gonzales (Robert) and Martin (Marty) Martinez; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Teresa Guerrero.
