Maria Anna Gallegos

Maria A. Gallegos, a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of five peacefully passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 80 years on Monday, November 16, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas.

Maria was born on April 17, 1940 in Leming, Texas. She was the daughter of Paula Cantu Martinez and Manuel Martinez, Sr.

She married Willie Gallegos on December 22, 1956. Maria was a humble servant who had an intense love for her family. Some of her favorite memories are those spent on Sunday’s at her mom’s house cooking, telling stories, and breaking bread together. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and loved being outdoors and especially loved visiting under the big Oak Tree.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Martinez, Sr., Paula Cantu Martinez, and her brother, Henry “Ricky” Martinez. She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Willie Gallegos; children, Rachel Martinez (Severo Martinez), Carlos Gallegos, Nelda Lozano (Jaime Lozano); grandchildren, Gabriel Flores (Nina Flores), Valerie Flores, Jacqueline Martinez, Devin Lozano, Kevin Lozano, Melani Lozano Martinez (Orlando Martinez), Troy Lozano, Carlos Gallegos Jr. and great-grandchildren, Celeste Rios, Angelo Flores, Zavier Alcaraz, Sofia Flores, Zaylyn Alcaraz and her 9 siblings.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all her caretakers for the loving care they provided to Maria in her later years.
