Maria was born in Saelices, Spain on February 23, 1937, to parents Bernardino and Ceferina Del Saz Medina. At an early age she travelled to many countries performing with a professional dance and flamenco group. And continued to travel and live in other beautiful countries with her husband and children, until they moved to San Antonio, Texas.
Maria was a sweet loving woman, who loved unconditionally. With a smile that could brighten the room and a quick wit that would make you laugh endlessly. Her passions were making food even when you were not hungry and giving gifts to her family and friends even when there was no special occasion. Maria had the biggest heart when it came to taking care of her family and grandchildren, their "Abuelita."
She was very active into her late seventies, spending time with her friends and enjoying long walks, "caf con leche, lemon and apple pies", until she battled the last of her years with dementia. Maria will be remembered by her family and friends for her thoughtful generosity and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Maria is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Haner, her parents, two brothers Damian and Paco, two sisters Beci and Flora.
Maria is survived by her son, three daughters and six grandchildren: Jay Carlos Haner, Nada Haner, sons Omar and Fares Haner, Omars spouse Elise Delage, Maria Carla Wright, and her spouse Eldon "Tree" Wright, daughters Nicole and Rebecca Wright, Lynda Paloma Bailey, and her spouse Tim Bailey, daughter Gabriella and son Gage Bailey, Robin Pilar Haner, and her spouse Joseph Petrie.
Our family would like to give special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice, the nurses and staff who provided our mother with loving thoughtful care. A special thank you to Rosa for caring for our mother over five years, Nena who only took care of our mother full time for a short while and Pastor John who provided our mother and family with heartfelt prayers.
We are deeply appreciative for all the special services and love that you have provided to our mother. And as our mother would say "Que te dicho, piensas mucho."
