

Maria C. Moreno, born on September 7, 1935, entered eternal rest on January 21, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in the small, humble town of Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, and was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Contreras and Ines Marquez Contreras.
Maria was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Luciano Moreno; her beloved son, Luciano Moreno Jr.; her cherished great-granddaughter, Violet Angel Moreno; and her siblings Jose Contreras, Pablo Contreras, Silverio Contreras, Oscar Contreras, Josefina Contreras, Agustina Contreras, Luz Contreras, Isabel Contreras, and Rosa Contreras. Though deeply missed, she is now reunited with them in God’s eternal presence.
A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Maria lived her life guided by prayer, humility, and service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a true pillar of her family. Her love was evident through her constant care for her children and grandchildren, her willingness to help whenever she was needed, and her selfless, giving heart.
Maria was known for her strong traditions, especially her cooking, which brought family together and created cherished memories rooted in love and faith. She was hardworking, compassionate, and generous, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her life reflected God’s love through action, sacrifice, and deep devotion to her family.
She is survived by her siblings Soccoro Contreras and Consuelo Contreras; her loving children Javier Moreno (Susie), Claudia Moreno, Cynthia Martinez (Eddie), Sandra Moreno, and Oscar Moreno (Sara); and her beloved grandchildren Anthony, Jesus(Desiree), Alex, Alejandro, Vanessa, Yesenia (Luis), Elizabeth (Walter), Jonathan, Monique, Breanna, Diego, Madeline, and Matthew, as well as multiple great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Maria was a cherished grandmother whose faith, values, and love will continue to guide future generations. Her legacy of faith, family, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she now rests in the peace and promise of the Lord.
