Maria Garcia Smith

Maria Garcia Smith, age 87, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 in San Antonio. She was born on August 29, 1924 in Tampico, Mexico, to parents, Francisco and Esther Garcia. Maria earned her Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Incarnate Word. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William A. (Bill) Smith DDS; son, Michael A. (Mike) Smith; sister, Maria Esther Garcia de Fernandez; nieces and nephews, Maria Esther Fernandez de De La Garza and husband, Jorge, Marta Fernandez de Holguera and husband, Valentin, Julio Fernandez and wife, Martha, Francisco Fernandez and wife, Patricia, Ana Laura Fernandez de Moral and husband, Nicolas; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Specht. Maria's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Karl Hempel and his nurse, Linda, Dr. Stephen Kalter, and Geoff and Julia from Harbour Hospice.
