Mariana Alaniz

Mariana was born in Robstown, TX, to Victor Barrera and Maria Adela Garcia. She married Juan Jose Alanis in Robstown, TX, on 04/07/1979. She worked as a school nutrition professional for Parent Child Incorporated. Along with being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mariana is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Barrera and Maria Adela Garcia. She was survived by her husband, Juan Jose Alanis, her children, Jose Luis Alaniz (Silvia), Juan Victor Alaniz, Juan Jose Alaniz Jr., Kristy Ann Alaniz, and Triksy Ann Alaniz. Her grandchildren Jasmine Marie, Alana America, Guillermo, Zoey Ariana, Noah Jayden, Dominic Ethan, Madison Rae, Ruben Alanzo, Audrinna Ann, Raul ReyAngel, John Abel, Adaliyah Mirabel, and Xavier Jay, and her great-grandchildren Kamilah, Cienna, and Dariella.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Little Flower Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the Church. Per her wishes, cremation will be performed.
