Marie Collins Jacobson

Marie Collins Jacobson was taken to be with her Parents and the Lord on October 7, 2010 after a very private 3 year battle with Cancer. Born to Ismael and Mayme Cepeda in 1950, she was a lifetime San Antonio lady. She taught Art and Special Ed for many years in the SAISD. Marie was a loving and caring wife, stepmother and daughter as well as a talented artist. She was a patriot, philanthropist and she loved travel. She graduated from Providence HS, Trinity University and finished her Masters degree at UTSA. Preceding her in death were her father and mother Ismael and Mayme Cepeda and her late husband James V Collins. Survivors include husband Col (ret) James Jacobson, Stepsons, Ryan, Justin and Jeremy, grandchildren Stirling, Sybren, Soren, Smith and Aiden. She has many cousins, aunts and uncles and her cherished pups Angel, Bridget and Nikki. Special thanks to cousins Kathy Lopez and Rose Jass for their incredible help and support during these final days. Special thanks also to her SAMMC Oncology, Surgery and Radiation Medical teams, particularly Dr. Peoples, Dr. Richard, and Dr Kopchinski, and Dr Dullea. The nurses and Technicians were fantastic as well. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society or Animal Defense league. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14 followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the committal service to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
