Mario Alberto Rodriguez

Mario was born in San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico to Amado and Guadalupe Rodriguez on the 8th of February 1959. He moved to San Antonio at age 10. As an adult he met and married Darlene S. (Jones) Rodriguez on the 27th of October 1979 in Bexar County. He graduated from the San Antonio Fire Academy, then retired as an Engineer from the San Antonio Fire Department after thirty-five years of public service. He spent time enjoying retirement being with family and dogs.

Mario is preceded in death by his parents Amado and Guadalupe Rodriguez.

Mario is survived by his wife Darlene S. (Jones) Rodriguez his children Mark (Elizabeth), Robert, Miranda (Jim, spouse), David (Elizabeth), his siblings Eduardo (Juanita), Yolanda, Blanca (Rene), Alicia, Ignacio (Martha) his grandchildren Michelle, Mark Jr., Dominic, Emma, Maximo, Jaxon and great-Grandchildren Katrina and Xavier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eduardo, Ignacio, Rene Jr., Mark, Robert and David.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218, on May 26, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A Prayer Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218, on May 26, 2026, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218, on May 27, 2026 at 2:30pm.
