Mark was born and raised in San Antonio. Mark graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. All through school and beyond, Mark made many lifelong friends along the way.
While living in Dallas and Houston, Mark was involved in several business ventures including co-owner of the award-winning Sea Breeze Fish Market and Grill in Plano and co-owner of the Village Bakery in Houston.
Mark returned to San Antonio where he was fortunate to rekindle a friendship with high school friend, Cindy Sheridan-Joyce, that blossomed into a relationship special to him. It brought him a renewed sense of purpose, love, and happiness. For that, Mark’s family and friends are eternally grateful.
Mark is survived by his sons Eric Alterman (Elaine) and Aaron Alterman and his grandchild Lior; his loving parents Richard and Charolette Sue Alterman and his sisters Aileen Tiras (Mark) and Marsha Rosenfeld (Kenny); nieces and nephews Staci Tiras-Jones (Dan), Evan Tiras (Monica), Beth Tiras, Craig Rosenfeld (Kelly), Alisha Rosenfeld (Andy), and Great nieces and nephews: Alex, Abigail, Isabel, Kerrigan, and Jubilee.
