Mark Edward O'Rourke

Mark Edward O’Rourke, 42, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2025, in his hometown, surrounded by family. Born on May 29, 1982, Mark’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering spirit.

He was preceded in death by his beloved twin brother, Matthew Everett O’Rourke; his grandparents James and Josephine O’Rourke and Cleofas and Higinia Cristan.

Mark is survived by his devoted parents, Myles O’Rourke and Lucy Cristan; his loving sister, Michelle O’Rourke-Maietta and her husband Gino Maietta; and his cherished nephews, Giovanni and Alessio Maietta. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kind heart and joyful spirit.

A graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Mark was proud of his roots and the community that shaped him.

Mark was a true fighter from the very beginning to the very end. His strength, compassion, and bright smile brought comfort and joy to those around him. He will forever be remembered as our Angel, watching over us with love. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

We love you, Mark. You will always be in our hearts.

A visitation for Mark will be held Monday, May 26, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, TX 78232, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. We will depart in procession from Sunset North Funeral Home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 for a 10:00 AM Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 20523 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, TX 78258. Mark will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
