

Martha Ann Ramirez Villalva was born on March 31st.,1957 at Santa Rosa Hospital San Antonio, Tx. to Rev.& Mrs Fortunato Avila Ramirez. Martha grew up in the United Methodist Church as a Preacher’s Kid (P.K.) of the Rio Grande Conference/ now Rio Texas Conference.
Martha attended Escobar Elementary (San Antonio), Anson Jones Middle School (Bryan) and Graduated from Brownsville Homer Hannah High School in 1975.
Martha dedicated her life to God and served in the churches where her father was appointed. She was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir at El Buen Pastor (Brownsville, Tx). She was a youth counselor Pollard Memorial (San Antonio, Tx) also served at Sub District Coordinator for Youth in the San Antonio, Del Rio, Floresville Area. Martha was a member of Good News Praise Group that formed in Pollar Memorial and also served as choir director.
Martha served in the Single Young Adults ministry as District President and she was involved with Youth Ministries serving as Dean of Women for district retreats and youth camp in Sacramento, NM.
Martha was very visible at the Annual Conference, serving at registration for the delegates and pastors
and would serve on the conference floor as Marshall to help maintain order during crucial votes.
Annual Conference at Southwestern University is where she met the love of her life Victor. A friend of
Martha's struck up a checkers game and Victor said he would play the winner. Well, Martha won and the rest is history.
Martha is survived by her husband of 28 yrs. Victor Manuel Villalva II, son Victor Manuel (Trey) Villalva
III. 3 “adopted” daughters Sonia, Sophia, Saniya and “adopted” son Ernesto Perez III; brothers, Enrique Trinidad (Evelyn), Ricardo Fortunato (Delia), Michael Rene; (adopted) sister, Noelia Perez (Earnest) ; 8 nephews, George Jr., Mark, Gilbert, Thomas, Josh, Bobby, Mikey, Alex; 3 nieces, Chrissy, Goya, Yolie and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and God children.
Martha was famous for her Capirotada, Menudo and checked up on several by calling on them during the
week to make sure they were ok, especially on their birthday to sing them Las Mananitas.
Martha entered eternal life on March 19th, 2022. Martha gave of herself and touched so many lives, she will be greatly missed.
The Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Alamo Heights Sanctuary Church, 825 E Basse Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209 with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the church.
