Mary Agnes Curd Casias beloved mother, and grandmother was called to heaven on Thursday morning, April 14, 2022, at 90 years of age. She left this world after a 6-year struggle with the effects from a cerebral stroke. She never complained and always greeted family and friends with a warm smile.
Mary Agnes was born on February 15, 1932, in McAllen, Texas to Robert James Curd and Esther H. Curd. A child of the Great Depression, hard work, and steely determination defined her life. She had three children Sondra Judith, Robert James, and Cynthia Michelle. The family resided in San Antonio. She worked for the Edgewood Independent School District for 30 years. Her fondest memories were working as an elementary school librarian and migrant school counselor. She loved to cook, garden, play Bingo with her sisters, but her favorite hobby was spending time with family and friends.
Mary Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, Robert James and Esther H. Curd, brothers Robert, Charles, Oscar, James, Jesse Martinez Curd, sisters Alice Garcia, Mary Esther Campos, and husband Phillip L. Casias.
