Mary Lou Castellano

She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her father, Alvino Castellano Jr. who we know as "Deddy"; her mother, Refugia R. Castellano who we better know as "AMA"; six siblings (Joneh, Angelita, Maria Elena, Gloria, Rosalinda & Lillie); her grandchild, Rene Anthony Padgett; and her great-great-grandchild, Ashleigh Ariella Karimi.

She is survived by her two siblings, Joe Castellano (Yolie) and Lorena, Lori Castellano Jochen (Chris); her children, Alfred C. Ortiz III (Claudia), Margaret A. Decker (Milo), and Angela Rose; her grandchildren, Stephen Ortiz, Alyssa Ortiz, Justin Ruiz (Kimberly), Ashly N. Hill (Michael), Amy Leigh Hernandez (Ruben), Andrew M. Decker (Samantha), and Anthony J. Rose (Tabitha); her great-grandchildren, Mia Ranee Villarreal (Justin), Ally Maree Silvas, Isabella C. Silvas, MaKenzie J. Hill, Penelope Rose, and Baby Decker (expected April 2026); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as a great number of friend's. We’d love for you to celebrate her new life with us.

A prayer service for Mary will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.

A memorial service will occur Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.

A graveside service will occur Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
