Mary Beth Mueller of Corpus Christi, formerly of San Antonio, passed away quietly on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at age 92. She was born on November 3, 1913 in Rusk, TX to Ollie Carson Davis and the Rev. Walter T. Davis. She was a teacher whose lessons will live on long after her.
Mary Beth grew up in Pearsall, TX, and lived in San Antonio for over 60 years. While teaching on an emergency certificate in the Edgewood ISD, she attended night classes and summer school for seven years. Mary Beth graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College San Antonio, just prior to the birth of her fourth grandchild. She continued her teaching career in the San Antonio ISD, retiring in 1976. The lessons she taught far exceeded the boundaries of her classroom.
In 1996, she moved to Portland, TX and extended her life-long love affair with flowers, tending a colorful pallet in her new garden. When physically able, Mary Beth attended First Christian Church in Corpus Christi, but politely declined to change her membership from Beacon Hill Presbyterian, her home church in San Antonio.
She is preceded in death by her husband, B.G. Mueller; a daughter, Michael Ann Mueller Robalin; her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip Davis and wife, Marguite. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Beth Mueller Ott Rick of Portland, TX.; six grandchildren, Tricia Ott Keenan Michael of Ft. Campbell, KY.; Lori Ott Fogarty Chris of Dallas, TX., Casey Ott of Austin, TX; Mike Robalin Debby; and Brad Robalin Lisa both of El Paso, TX; and Valery Robalin Cutchin John of San Diego, CA.. Her life will live on through sixteen great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a niece, Lynn Davis Chanault Max of Garland, TX; a nephew, Walter David Judy of Dallas, TX., and their children. Each family had their own pet name for Mary Beth, including "Dammy"; "Gange", and "Mimi", they will miss her in their own personal way, supported by equally personal memories.
Though unable to tell them recent years, she loved the "angels" who provided her round-the-clock care during her eight year residency at The Holmgreen Center - Estella Hernandez, Manuela Cano, and Irene Sanchez. We were all blessed with the caring professionals of Vista Care Hospice.
