

She graduated from Loretta Heights School for Girls in Louisville, KY and Saint Elizabeth's Nursing School.
She served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps at Fort Knox, KY where she met her husband, Richard. As an Army wife, she moved every 18 months, traveling with 5 children over the east coast, mid-west, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Mary devoted her life to God, her church, and her family. She belonged to St. Elizabeth's Guild at St. Pius X and St. Peter St. Joseph Children's Home Auxiliary. She gave her time and care to help the disadvantaged and poor.
During the Vietnam War, she worked as a volunteer on the burn ward at Brooke Army Medical Hospital. Her love of life, her warmth and her fun loving nature, was enjoyed by all who knew her or met her briefly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Col. Richard A. Blair; sons, Anthony Blair and James Blair; and husband, Col. Edwin Rowan.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Donovan and husband Richard; son, Chuck Blair and spouse, Kate Rux, all of San Antonio; son, Richard Blair of Arlington, TX; twin sister, Margaret and husband Col. Jim Wright both of San Antonio; brother, Alfred Reid of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Christine Spurlock, James, Nelson and Lauren Blair and their mother, Marguerite Nelson, and Pam Stone; great grandchildren, Audrey, Charles and Jack Spurlock; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
