

Mary Frances Zamora, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 17, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on January 1, 1940, to David Murguía and Frances Gómez Murguía. She devoted her life to the Catholic faith, her family, and teaching Montessori at Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she shared her gifts for over 31 years. Her love and compassion made her a favorite of students and parents alike. During her time at Mount Sacred Heart, she developed a close and lasting bond with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SSCJ), who had a significant and enduring impact on her and her family. Mary Frances enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Her legacy will live on through her family, her friends, and the countless students whose lives she positively impacted.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her siblings, David Murguía, Jr., Dolores Murguía Calderón, Alice Murguía Villarreal, and Raúl Salvador Murguía. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Guillermo Francisco Zamora; her four loving children, Bill Zamora (Terry), Diana Cavazos (Peter), Peter Zamora (Veronica), and Juan Carlos Zamora (Lisa); her eight beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas Zamora(Briana), Daniel Zamora, Peter Michael Cavazos II, Zachary Cavazos, Sophia Cavazos, Joseph Zamora, Julia Zamora, and Oliver Zamora; her siblings, Edward Murguía (Connie), Mary Lou Dubois (Bill), Jerry Murguía (Nancy), and Patsy Buyce (Richard); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and former students.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the compassionate caregivers who dedicated their time to providing exceptional care to Mary Frances over the years: Elvira De Cruz, Imelda Macías, Magdalena Cano, Alejandra Martínez, Gisselle Ospina, Betty Milán, and all the dedicated and devoted staff at Holy Savior Hospice.
