Mattie "Meme" Laverne Hendon

Mattie Laverne Hendon “Meme”, born June 27, 1931, passed away April 9, 2018 at the age of 86. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hendon “Gene” and nine brothers and sisters. Meme is survived by her daughter, Pamela Reeh and husband Robert; and sons, Roy Hendon and wife Judy, Spencer Hendon and Billy Hendon, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of Meme’s favorite hobbies included gardening, painting and fishing with her cane pole. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 am, with a funeral service to held at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
