Michael Casarez

May 25, 1970 – February 19, 2021

Michael Casarez, at age 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Michael was born on May 25, 1970 in San Antonio. He was a 1988 graduate of James Madison High School. In 1998 he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio. For the last, almost 12 years, he worked as a Graphic Designer for Cornerstone Publications in the Castroville News Bulletin, where he was recognized for his work on numerous occasions. Michael truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; drinking a good cup of coffee, laughing and hanging with friends, watching his favorite movies and shows, and always celebrating others. He loved Star Wars and enjoyed dressing up for Halloween. He was always the first person to congratulate you or wish you a Happy Birthday. He had two mixed Chihuahuas, Oddie and Ollie, who simply adored him. He was kind to everyone no matter who they were or where they came from.

Michael is survived by his father, Martin Casarez; his mother, Margaret Casarez; a brother, Steven Casarez; his niece, his two great nieces and two great nephews, and a large extended family.

Family, friends and others whose lives Michael touched are invited to attend a Celebration of life at Porter Loring Mortuary North; 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for visitation, on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
