Michael Lynn Edwards

Michael Lynn Edwards, age 43, passed away peacefully at home March 21, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas after a battle with cancer. He was born on May 23, 1980, to Terry G. Edwards and Melynda (Healey) Edwards in Rexburg, Idaho. Michael graduated from Taft High School, San Antonio, Texas then received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees at The University of Texas San Antonio.

Michael worked at USAA for 19 years. He loved his job and his colleagues and was deeply loved in return. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and as a young man served a two-year mission in Ventura, California. He returned home and served faithfully in various callings throughout his life. Michael married his beloved wife Katie Hardin in the Houston Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2002. Michael was a beautiful example of hard work and dedication to his family. He was a wonderful husband and father who considered his wife and five sons his best friends. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, planning family game nights, camping trips, and other activities. He had a boundless zest for life and left an eternal legacy in his loving family.

Michael is survived by his wife Katie; his sons, Christopher, Austin, Jason, Zachary, and Ian; his parents, Terry and Melynda Edwards; his sister, Jennifer (Larry) Wagenknecht; his grandparents, Nyla and Lynn Healey; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Debbie Hardin; brothers-in-law, Jared (BreAnne) Hardin and Craig (Natalie) Hardin; sister-in-law, Renee (Shane) Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
