'I just learned of the passing of an incredible doctor, neurologist, and human being. I met Dr. Merren when my mother-in-law moved to San Antonio. She had lost her husband in Alabama and relocated here to be close to her children. Dr. Merren was highly recommended to us as she was dealing with cervical dystonia. He listened and cared to the point that as a RN, I was incredibly impressed. The medical world will feel this loss for years to come. My thoughts are with his family. They must be great to have had Dr. Merren in their lives.'

'Mike was an inspiration to me. He encouraged my decision to become a neurologist, helped me transition into private practice and gave me numerous tips on how to practice medicine. He was a very generous man to me and many patients. A great loss to us all. I will miss him.'
