

Michael Louis Williams, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born December 11, 1953 at the Army Hospital in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey to Mary Theresa Knippa and Frank Albert Williams.
Michael enlisted in the Air Force in 1973. While serving he received many awards and medals. He received NCO of the quarter and NCO of the year many times while serving his country. He started the AA chapter in Biloxi, MS where he functioned as mentor and sponsor to fellow recovering alcoholics. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1993, he continued to serve his community through Alcoholics Anonymous and his church.
Mike enjoyed reading, watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys with his son, fishing, visiting with family, and doing jigsaw puzzles. His smile and laugh lit up a room. He was well known for his jokes and friendly banter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Christopher Williams. Mike is survived by his son Michael A. Williams and wife Christine; siblings Frank A. Williams Jr. & Christie (wife), Terry Munoz & Nick (husband), Mary Ciranna & Gary (husband), Sue Stevens, Katy Wilks & David (husband), Linda Kennett & Homer (husband), and Stephanie Williams & Chris (husband); beloved dog Gracie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Mike will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, Humane Society, or the Veterans Administration.
