MSG Edward Porter Kellerman (U.S. Army Ret.) passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and devotion to family. Edward honorably served his country for more than 20 years in the United States Army, dedicating his life to his country. His military career reflected strength, leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty – qualities that defined him both in and out of uniform.
Following his distinguished military service, Edward continued to serve fellow veterans through his work with the VA as a dental lab technician. With skilled hands and a compassionate heart, he specialized in dental reconstruction and creating dentures, restoring confidence and dignity to those he cared for. His precision, patience, and pride in his craft made a lasting difference in countless lives.
On the home front, Edward’s greatest joy was his family. He was married for nearly 34 years to the love of his life, Terri Mathews Kellerman. Together they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and partnership. March 1st marked their wedding anniversary each year – a day they cherished as a celebration of their enduring bond.
Edward found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed bowling, often relishing the friendly competition and camaraderie it brought. A talented carpenter with a passion for home improvement, he could often be found building, fixing, or improving something around the house. Working with his hands was not just a hobby – it was an expression of his creativity and care for his home and loved ones.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Terri Mathews Kellerman; his children, Edward Raymond Kellerman, James Lawrence Kellerman (Cherryl), Connie Suzanne Vanessa Andrews (Thomas Williams), and Patricia Ann Mack (Jesse); his grandchildren, Rachel King, Jessica King, Jordan Kellerman (Valerie Ravera), and Mackenzie Kellerman; his nephew, Chance Mathews Navarrete (Andres Ortiz Suarez); his niece, Amber Grace Mathews Navarrete (Patricia Scnear); his sister-in-law, Kathy Lynn Mathews; and numerous great-grandchildren who carry his legacy forward.
Edward will be remembered for his integrity, dedication, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. His life was one of service – to his country, to veterans, and to those closest to him. His memory will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at Porter Loring Mortuary North, located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
A committal service will take place on March 3, 2026, at 1:45pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209
