

Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, the Rt. Rev. J. Wilson Hunter, former rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Antonio and Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming from 1948 - 1969.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Hunter Sherwin of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Sally Hunter Hopper of Golden, Colorado; her son, James Wilson Hunter, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca Thrower Hunter of Sanford, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of St. Nicholas Guild and the Daughters of the King at St. Mark's Church and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.
Nan Hunter is remembered for her gracious manner and loving spirit. As the wife of a clergyman, she was a vital part of his ministry and a support in all he did.
In San Antonio many servicemen enjoyed the Hunters' hospitality at dinner after church on Sundays and joined in family celebrations at Easter and Christmas.
July 6, 2005 was a festive occasion celebrating the 100th birthday of a very special individual. In high spirits, Mrs. Hunter was joined by over 30 family members and dozens of friends recognizing this important milestone.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing Nan Hunter.
