Nancy Arden Moore passed away Sunday morning, April 12 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio while undergoing treatment for an infection. She leaves behind two sons, two grandsons, and many close friends from Texas and across the country.
Mrs. Moore was born September 27, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in Olmos Park, Texas, the daughter of Dr. Robert Arden Miller and Mary Green Miller. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hall and went on to study music at the University of Michigan. She was also accepted as a piano student under Gyorgy Sandor, a Hungarian pianist who had studied with Hungarian composer Bella Bartok. Later in life, she also returned for additional keyboard studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Mrs. Moore married Ralph Emerson Moore and was the proud mother of Clint Miller Moore and Clay Arden Moore, both of San Antonio. She was also a doting grandmother to Tyler Arden Moore and Dylan Patrick Moore of San Antonio.
During her many years in San Antonio, Mrs. Moore used her piano and organ skills to play for numerous church services in the region, and particularly loved the old Protestant hymns. She also spent several years selling real estate, helping friends and other clients to buy homes in the area.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Moore was a voracious reader, and devoured everything from murder mysteries to philosophy. She leaves behind many friends from her childhood, her professional life, and her meditation group.
Memorial services will take place Friday, April 17, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
