Nesha McGowan

She attended Garland Elementary, then Covington High School. She went on to attend Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. After moving to Woodward Oklahoma, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Accounting on May 11th, 1998.

It was in Woodward where Nesha met Rick and a long-distance courtship began. On August 21st, 1999, they married at Lincoln Baptist Church and began their beautiful life together. They moved and lived in several cities, always returning to San Antionio which they called home.

Being a strong faithful Christian, she would help Rick with Sunday School and always involved in various church activities. She learned to play the piano at a very young age and played at several churches, weddings, funerals and other events. She taught herself how to play the organ with foot pedals. Although, we thought she was rocking to the music, but she was using her feet to play the pedals. Nesha always had a loving, caring heart. She always had a smile and wanted to make a difference to others by sharing her story how powerful and loving Jesus is to us all. Nesha is dearly loved by her family and friends. She is and always will be missed by all. She started her walk past the pearly gates along the streets of gold on February 22nd, 2025. With Jesus arms open wide, and said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant. Welcome home.”

She is survived by her husband Ricky McGowan of San Antonio Texas, sisters Vicki Dial and husband David, and Carrie Hamill all of Woodward Oklahoma. Brother-in-laws, Steven McGowan and spouse Kathy, Mark McGowan and spouse Colleen, and sister-in-law Sandra Jeffers with Roland Veloz of San Antonio.

Nephew’s, David Dial and spouse Mandy of Knoxville Tennessee, Evan Jeffers of San Antonio and Doug Teamor and spouse Jessica of Haslet, Texas.

Niece’s, Jaime Harmon and spouse Chad, Jessica Wiese and spouse Katie, and Brandi Dial, all of Woodward, Oklahoma. Kristan Lipinski and spouse Trey, Heather Lockwood and spouse Robbie, Holly Caruso and spouse Stephen, Mandie Timmermann and spouse David, Pamela Cortez and spouse Joe, Michelle Jeffers, and Cheryl Jeffers of San Antonio. And Tiffany Twitty and spouse John of Cameron N.C.

Great Nieces and Nephews Madison Harmon, Wyatt and Reagan Lipinski, Steele and Geneva Caruso, Lilliana and Cairo Cortez, Nathanial McGowan and Chloe Timmermann, Jade Twitty, Gabriella Johnson, Juliana Twitty, John Twitty III, Jackson Twitty, Ryan Teamor, Kylie Teamor, Lee Roy Garcia, Jezzel Faith Calderon, Jaliyah Teamor, and Jazlyn Teamor.

Nesha was proceeded in walking with our Lord by her father Henry Mack Parr and Mother Reba Alice (Warren) Parr of Woodward Oklahoma, her father-in-law, Donald Eugene McGowan and mother-in-law Ruby Wanda (Waugh) McGowan, of San Antonio, Texas, and six babies waiting for her when she entered Heavens Gates.

The family will receive guests from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, March 2, at Porter Loring Mortuary West (located near SeaWorld).

A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 3, at Crossroads Baptist Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
