I can’t believe that I’m writing this let alone coming to terms with your death.
Mike called me a couple days ago with the news and after I hung up my mind raced back 45 years ago when we were stationed at Holloman AFB. We worked together and lived in the same ratty trailer park. We both had young kids and fortunately our Exes were good friends as well, so we spent a lot of time hanging out. I remember when we played basketball and chess once we didn’t have any aircraft to service. I thought I was a pretty good chess player until we played our first match and you beat me down quick and told me afterwards, “I was the 16-year-old chess champion of San Antonio”, needless to say when I eventually won it was a HUGE accomplishment for me.
 When you got out at the end of your enlistment and moved back to San Antonio, it was the first of many, many, times that I saw a good friend go their own way.
We drifted in and out of touch (pre- internet) for a couple decades but when we conversed, it was just like we had seen each other all the time. The last time I spoke to you, you had called to get pointers on how to retire from Civil Service.
I always thought we would hook up again sometime, God has you in his arms now.

Sylvia, Jackie, and family, our heartfelt condolences to you. Many prayers that you will heal in time. Nick was a man of few words, unless he was interested in the topic of the conversation. He was such a good father. I remember a few years back I was at Chris Madrid's with my colleagues, and I saw him and Jackie eating and having a conversation. I didn't approach them, but boy I did admire their genuine father daughter relationship. We will miss you Nick!

My deepest condolences to Sylvia and the Ozuna family. May the Peace of Christ Jesus be with you all in this time of mourning for Nick. He was a true friend and like a brother. Many years of good memories. He will be missed

Cousin Nick, it was a great shock to hear about you. I still can’t believe it. I will miss you greatly. I’m sure God has opened his doors and you’re reunited with your family. I’m glad and happy that you got to hold and love your first grandson. (I prayed for that). Our heartfelt condolences to all your girls and Sylvia.  I loved my cousin so much we were the last remaining in town. May God grant the whole family peace. It’s hard to lose 2 loved ones in such a short time.
