Norma was born December 22, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas, to Leon and Gloria Alemán. Waiting to greet her in heaven are her daddy, Leon Alemán Sr., and her brother, Jimmy Alemán.
Norma’s lasting love will be cherished by her surviving family: son, Michael Alemán; her sister, Gloria Alemán; her brothers, Leon Jr. (Patty) and Sixto Alemán; and her mother, Gloria Alemán (Acuña). Also cherishing her memory are her nieces, Kristen (Travis), Pamela, and Melissa (Eric), and her nephews, Chris and Alex. She was the greatest Aunt/Auntie to Aiden, Adelyn, Katie, and Keilani.
Her love for living life to the fullest did not go unnoticed. Her unconditional love for her family was to infinity and beyond. She had nicknames for all of her loved ones, and her son gave her the sweet nickname of Pookie. She could never tell her kids no; she believed in them no matter what. They all mattered most to her.
Norma Jean was known for her incredible baking, especially her cakes that made every family gathering and celebration feel extra special. She had a passion for crafts, flowers, and all things purple, and lovingly served as the florist for many family events and occasions. She also shared a deep love for music, with favorites including Fleetwood Mac, Queensrÿche, Metallica, and Stevie Nicks. One of her most treasured keepsakes was her beloved Stevie Nicks Barbie.
Norma will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed.
Family and friends will gather at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home on June 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. for a memorial service celebrating Norma Jean’s life.
