Pam, Patti and Bob it has been a blessing in my life to have your mother as a dear friend. She was a special lady. I am thankful for her touch on my life. We are praying for you all as you release Norma Jean into the presence of the Lord.

Norma Jean was a special friend for many years to our family.  She welcomed us into her home for weekly Bible studies with her and Lee.  She was always around to visit with and eagar to hear how you were getting along.  She made our church feel like a home by preparing dinners and morning coffee and greeting everyone.  Norma always encouraged me to join in the Young at Heart group and Sunday school class with my dad even though there was a generation gap.  It has been a blessing to me to be included.  Although she will be greatly missed we all have wonderful memmories.  One of the best for me was a trip to Branson...it was like my old family vacations.  Norma we love you and are grateful for the sparkle you put in our lives.

Norma Jean (Jeanie) was a great friend to my mom, Patricia Gutierrez (Terri).  They would shop every Monday until my mom got dymentia.  We were always at her thrift store.  She was a beautiful lady and had a lot of class.  She will be surely missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Norma Jean loved with a love that made you feel that you were a member of her family. Her beauty, both in and out, was a reflection of Jesus in her life.
We knew her as a woman, who at times, was fearless, but vulnerable with a strength that made you feel safe.
Our family worshipped and ministered at MacArthur Park Church of God for nineteen years and Norma Jean and her late husband, Lee, were a rich part of our lives during that time. The authentic love that they had for their family spilled over to those around them.

It has been a Blessing to me, my wife, father and mother to have know both Norma Jean and her late husband Lee.  Every Sunday Norma Jean would be there to greet us and all members of Mac Arthur Park Church of God.  She always had a smile on her face and was just someone that made those around her feel good.  She will be missed.  She was a dear friend and a Great friend to my parents.  She and Lee will always have a special place in my heart.  For my parents Louie and Charlene Williams, my wife Mary and myself Louie S. Williams we all wish Norma Jean's family our prayers during this sad time.  God bless and keep you all. I have such wonderful memories of Jean all those years she and Lee came to Hot Springs for family visits. She was so much fun and she made everyone feel good who was around her. 

She and Lee were great hosts when we came to San Antonio for Patti's wedding. We saw Jean's thrift store and had a nice time in SA. I'll always have warm memories of Jean.

I met Jeanie when she had her shop on Hackberry.  After she closed her shop we met for coffee nearly every week.  She was a wonderful Christian woman and I will miss her dearly.

To Norma Jean's family:
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Ps 23:4

Because Norma Jean embraced Jesus while she was living - Jesus was able to embrace her when she died... there is no greater comfort than knowing this!  

We had the pleasure of being her pastor for one year. We so wish it could have been much longer... but we certainly will take one year of memories over none at all.  

Norma Jean's smiles and laughs will be greatly missed.  Her place as a greeter outside the sanctuary doors will appear to be empty... her familiar chair in Sunday School class will need to be filled... and her enthusiasm for playing games at the 'Young At Heart' will serve as a reminder that the joy of the Lord can be our strength!

Family and friends, we would do well to follow in her footsteps and love people and life as deeply as she did!  Blessings to you all...

Norma Jean was a beautiful lady of true class and strength. She touched countless numbers of people in loving and positive ways. We have learned from her passionate gestures toward those in need and her sterling model of Christianity. We'll be sustained by memories of the sense of humor with which she approached life.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of Mrs. Norma Jean Austin.  From the first day I came into Mac Arthur Park, Norma Jean would always greet me with a smile every time that I came into church.  She was a beautiful woman that I deeply admired and truly miss. 

She would always have such kind things to say to me and really made me feel welcome, even when I was struggling to come to church.  She would ask about me when I would not show up, and scold me when I would return for not showing up the week prior...!  

I did not know her as well as I should of, but from what I did know of Norma Jean, she was always a very wonderful and kind woman and has my utmost respect.  

I know in my heart that she is in a better place and I hope and pray that your family will be okay during these times.
