

She was born in Karnes City, Texas on October 28, 1936, and is preceded in death by her husband Julian R. Cantu, M.D., parents Eloi and Lydia Guerrero, and siblings Elsie, Alice, Eloy, and Hector.
She is survived by her five children Xavier A. Cantu (Yvette), Julian E. Cantu, Norma J. Finger (Chris), Maria A. Schott (Brian), Elvia L. Barajas (Carlos), eight treasured grandchildren: Elisa, Brandon, Gabriella, Alejandra, Ava, Brian, Sophia, Julian, and precious great-grandchild, Brayden.
Norma Jean attended St. Theresa’s Academy, Fox Tech High School, and earned an associate degree from San Antonio College. She was the majorette for Fox Tech High School. She was a debutante and active in local pageants, selected as Miss Posture in 1956. She married her childhood love, Julian, in 1961 and later moved to Monterrey, Mexico, where she taught English at The American Institute of Monterrey. She dedicated her life to family. Days were filled with school and sporting events, PTA fundraisers, and Girl Scouts. She was her children’s biggest fan, never missing a game or performance.
In her devout Catholic faith, she was inducted as a Lady in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. She traveled on several pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Costa Rica, and several churches throughout Europe, Mexico, and Asia. She attended daily mass and weekly adoration for years at St. Pius X. Norma Jean honored the Hour of Mercy and was happy to add your name to her prayer list for her daily rosary.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7th from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
