With great sadness, we announce the passing of Norman Bernard St. Clair on June 10, 2023. Norman, a cherished son, husband, brother, and father, was born on August 10, 1941, in Brady, Texas. He was the beloved son of Lola Pearl (Miller) St. Clair and Bernard Sylvester St. Clair, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Paula (St. Clair) Knape and his seven children who he deeply loved: Marcus, Sandra, Norman Scott, Bradley, Paulina, Lana, and Robert, to include 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A proud alumnus of Central Catholic High School, class of 1957, and ROTC Brigade Commander, Norman went on to serve his country with honor in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career in sales, serving with prestigious companies such as IBM, EDS, Xerox, and Ricoh. His extraordinary skills and infectious energy carried him through a six-decade-long career, only concluding in his mid-70s.
Throughout his life, Norman shared his journey with his beloved wife, Tatiana St. Clair. Together, they overcame challenges, celebrated life, filled their days with laughter, love, and adventure. A passionate explorer, Norman deeply loved life and lived by the philosophy of "work hard-play hard". This zest drove him to travel extensively and experience the cultural richness of diverse countries over many years. His open-minded approach to life and respect for global cultures is a legacy his children proudly uphold. Fluent in German and Russian, he used these skills to foster connections with people worldwide, both in his professional life and his personal travels.
Norman's sharp sense of humor often lit up even the gloomiest of rooms, his quick wit and playful banter serving as a beacon of joy and laughter. This uncanny ability to infuse humor into every situation, no matter how dire, will forever be a cherished part of his enduring legacy, reminding us to embrace life's absurdities with a laugh and a cheerful spirit.
While we are deeply saddened by Norman's passing, we take comfort in remembering his dynamic personality and tireless zest for life. We cherish the memories we share and the lessons we've learned from him. His love for life, his family, and his adventure will forever resonate in our hearts. His legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us to live each day fully and to appreciate family, love, and the richness of the world around us.
Norman will be laid to rest in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in a private ceremony for the family.
