Oscar O. Cadena

Oscar O. Cadena, known affectionately as "Pops," "Papo," or "Chief," went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on June 2, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas. Oscar leaves behind a broken hearted family who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lupe Cadena, and his loving children:

Oscar Cadena Jr. Brenda Rodriguez, and Linda Kempf.

He is also survived by his extended family, including:

Brenda and her husband, Mario Rodriguez, and the step-grandkids he loved as his own: Isaac, Selah, David, Aaron, and Ethan Rodriguez.

Emily (granddaughter) and her husband, Trey Peña.

Dylan (grandson) Contreras and his wife, Itati Contreras, along with Oscar's great-grandchildren Evan and Jae.

Linda and her husband, Michael Kempf, and Jacklyn and Julie (granddaughters).

Zachary Cadena, grandson.

He is also survived by his sisters: Olivia Zertuche, Odelia Sifuentes, and Olga Salazar and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Oscar is preceded in death by his loving parents, Anselmo and Petra Cadena, and his sisters Oralia Aguilera and Ofelia Gomez.

Throughout his life, Oscar was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, and brother. He worked tirelessly to support his family.

He was an avid hunter, took great pride in his construction work, and was deeply proud of his family.

Most importantly, Oscar had a giving spirit and a peaceful, gentle soul. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him

A memorial visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home on December 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the memorial service starting at 5:00 pm.
