Oscar Martinez

He was born on January 21, 1933 to parents, Ninfa and Alex Martinez, Sr. and was married to Ofelia Martinez for 54 years until her passing in 2005.

Oscar spent two years in the Naval Reserves before beginning a career that spanned 34 years at Thom McAn retail stores until his retirement in 1995. His life was full but his enjoyments simple - his favorite recliner, a book on his lap or an old western movie on the television, a beer in one hand, and a cigarette in the other.

He is preceded in death by parents, Ninfa and Alex Martinez, Sr.; wife, Ofelia Martinez; son, Larry Martinez; and sisters-in-law Mary Martinez and Mickey Reyes.

He is survived by siblings, Alex Martinez, Jr., Patricia Wilborne (Roy), Nancy Lopez (Ralph), Noro “Mando” Morales; sons, Oscar Martinez, Jr. (Ute), Leo Martinez (Rose), and Phillip Martinez, Sr. (Grace); grandchildren, Leo “Lenny” Martinez II, Sandra Martinez, April Martinez Moyer (Donald), Lance Martinez (Tracy), Desiree Martinez, Phillip Martinez, Jr. (Blanca), Samuel Martinez (Deanna), Vincent Martinez, and Amanda Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Trent Moyer, Austin Moyer, Ian Moyer, Ella Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Naveen Sandoval, Zavior Martinez, Aubree Martinez, Aiden Martinez, Aleyna Martinez, and Isabella Montelongo.

A visitation for Oscar will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home. An interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237.
