Patricia Lee Watkins Hill, born October 4, 1936 in San Antonio, TX, peacefully entered heaven on January 16, 2023. She was married to her husband, Jim Hill, for 67 years. Theirs was a true love story. Edison High School sweethearts, their first date was at a Sadie Hawkins Dance where they were “married”! At Edison HS she participated as a majorette, cheerleader, band, and pep squad. Attending University of Texas, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi, and a Texas Star before marrying her love. She finished her degree at Our Lady of the Lake University once her children were in elementary school. She began her career at NEISD as a speech pathologist, retiring after 25 years of service. Patsy and Jim were active members of St. George Episcopal Church and are currently members of Christ Episcopal Church.
Patsy enjoyed traveling both at home and abroad. They explored many new places, food, and cultures with an adventurous spirit! She was a member of the San Antonio Women’s Club, San Antonio Executive Association Auxiliary, and a docent at San Antonio Museum of Art. Always the supportive wife and mother, Patsy enjoyed entertaining and beautifully welcomed her family and friends. She was known to be the keeper and supporter of her family, encouraging our interests by saying “yes” to many a crazy idea; a creative soul, passing on her appreciation of cooking, sewing, reading, and beautiful decor and art to her children and grandchildren. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Jim Hill, three children: Melissa Hill (John Karger), Jay Hill (Robin), Stacy Hill Stewart (Doug); 7 grandchildren: Jayson Hill (Annette), Lindsey Marek (Kurt), Chaney Hill (Jackson Zerr), Pierce Gibson S.J., Mariah Stewart, Trey Stewart, and Briesie Stewart; and 3 great grandchildren: Kayson Marek, Macie Jo Marek, and Kannon Hill.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A special thank you to the loyal and sensitive caregivers, and hospice staff, who have become friends and family to us in these last years, especially Chelle, America, Alexa, and Erin; and the pastoral staff at Christ Episcopal Church.
Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, February 7, 2023 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PSP foundation: psp.org/iwantto help/ways-to-give/
