Paul was a very hard-working Marine that spent the majority of his life as a carpenter. He could build or fix anything and most of the time he did. As a father, his children learned the value of hard work by helping him with household projects and weekend tasks. They knew about strand board plywood and roof shingles before they knew how to drive. In addition, he made sure his children knew that family came first which is present in the overwhelming love they have for one another. Above all, his heart belonged to his wife JoAnn whom he loved deeply.
In his prime, Paul was a funny, wildly sarcastic, storyteller with a major sweet tooth that always loved to have family and friends at his home. He didn’t need a reason to have a bar-b-que on the weekend and he was always the first person to fire up the grill and pop open a beer.
Towards the end of his life, Paul’s family saw the softer side of him. Paul always had a smile on his face whether he was shuffling his feet, walking with a cane, pushing a walker, or being pushed in a wheelchair. During all his ordeals, his humor never faltered and neither did his sweet tooth. There were many times he would sneak past the dessert table, ask for seconds on ice cream, or be caught with cookies stuffed in his pockets. His family always found humor in his antics and his quirky facial expressions.
In his final days, Paul was at peace with his entire family by his side. His children and extended family joined him for one final gathering on June 3rd as they all laughed, joked, and relived stories of Paul. Paul took his final breaths on the morning of June 4th with his wife JoAnn by his side. He was 86 years old.
Paul was loved by many and will be missed by all.
