

He was awarded a Bachelor's Degree from Harvard University and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Boston University Law School. He also received a Master's of Library Science from Our Lady of the Lake University. Mr. Ferguson was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Captain and in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.
He was both a lawyer in private practice and the Law Librarian for Essex County Massachusetts from 1953-1966. In 1966 he moved from Marblehead, MA to San Antonio after being recruited by St. Mary's University Law School to serve as its law librarian. He impacted the lives of many lawyers in San Antonio and Texas during his tenure as a Professor and Library Director at St. Mary's University Law School between 1966-1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary (Caulfield); his children, Paul, Jr., Peter, Anne and husband, Roland, and Mark; his beloved grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Matthew and Ben; sisters, Mary and Margaret; brother, John; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church
