Paul Weldon Jank

Paul Weldon Jank, age 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born in Yoakum, Texas, joined the United States Navy at 17 years old and was honorably discharged in 1946. He loved hunting, gardening, playing pool and poker, spending time with family and he enjoyed his life and travels with Elisabeth “Liz” (his wife of 36 years). He was the epitome of a good father and faithful husband and was a devout Catholic.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth “Liz” Jank; his daughter, Cynthia Jank; his parents, Paul H. and Ruth Jank; and brother, David Jank.

Paul is survived by 5 children: Thomas “Bubba” Jank, Frank Rodriguez, Raymond Jank & wife Maria, Vonnie Knoebel, Melody Kreutziger & husband Gary; 4 stepchildren: Lisa Gerloff & husband Darren, Hal “Brett” Ramsey, Craig Ramsey, Steve Ramsey & wife Cathy. He was known as “Opie” to his 14 grandchildren: Linda Rodriguez, Destiney Vasquez, Sarah Knoebel, Natalia Rodriguez, Cody Kreutziger, Steven Rodriguez & wife Fernanda, Harmony Kreutziger, Westley Jank, Jessie Mangum & husband Travis, Dustin Gerloff & wife Aly, Alex Heye & husband Jeff, Jamie Thayer & husband Jack, Derek Gerloff & wife Ashley, Hunter Ramsey; 9 great-grandchildren: Nolan, Hadley, Aubrey, Jase, Hank, Whitley, Teagan, Jack III, Lane, and his brother, Don Jank.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
