Our loving Mother and Mamaw, Phyllis Joyce (Stewart) DeCuennick of San Antonio, Texas went to be with our Lord March 2, 2018. Phyllis was born November 28, 1929 in Trinity, Texas to Ralph and Norma (Ohm) Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, Jack F. DeCuennick; her children’s father, Rene C. Green; and her son-in-law William H. Tietze. She is loved and will be missed by her sister and brother-in-law Don and Martha Shavers; her daughter Pamela and son-in-law Rodney Piper, her son Scott Green and daughter-in-law Tracey; and her step-daughter Dawn Cline. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren including Danielle and Jesse Younger, their children Amelie Rose and William Luke; Kerri and Utz Baldwin, their children Beck Carter and Tate Scott; Erin and Grant Irvin, their children Eloise Prim, Olive Parker and Hattie James; Taylor and Hunter Harrison and soon to be Baby Harrison; Devan Green; Kayla Cline; Summer Murray; Christopher and Bridgette Piper, their daughter Kassidie; and Raycheal Piper. Phyllis spent her early years a homemaker and professional, with a career in retail and as a dental office manager. Later in life her hobbies included arts and crafts, cooking and entertaining, gardening, golfing, square dancing, shopping, and traveling. Among all of these things, spending quality time with her family and friends was her favorite, whether at Coffee or Supper Club with her closest friends, at Windcrest Women’s Club or Arts and Crafts, with her extended family at The Ohm Family Reunion, celebrating Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays with her family, supporting her grandchildren in events as they grew up, and countless birthday parties for her grandchildren and great grandchildren! Our family would like to thank the staff in the Tele Department of the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital for their exceptional, caring and loving care during Mamaw’s stay. A celebration of life will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
