Rachel Ann Sanchez

Rachel was born to Gustavo A. Sanchez and Carmen De La Fuente on September 16, 1957.

She went to Thomas Jefferson High School and received with a Bachelor's degree in education from UTSA. She was a teacher at Coronado Escobar Elementary for 30 years and retired in 2009.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, Carmen and Gustavo A. Sanchez, and Nephew Mario David Sanchez.

Rachel is survived by brother William A. (Anna) Sanchez, Gerard Sanchez, sisters Sandra Sanchez, Angela (Trinidad) Morones, and Lilian Sanchez, nephews Trinidad Morones III (Samantha and children James and Diego), nephew Alejandro Sanchez (AmberRose), niece Yvonne Lagunas, niece Natalie Lieck (Justin Lieck and children Jordan and Justin J.), and nieces Amanda and Melanie Gordon. Rachel is also survived by her loving and helpful step-mother Anna Marie Sanchez and treasured Aunt Alice (Yaya) Hendrix.

A rosary will begin at 9:30 AM led by Deacon Fred Campos Jr. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst, San Antonio, TX on Tuesday, July 22nd. The funeral mass will begin at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Francisco Stodola. Burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
