

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy (Rothert) of Hollidaysburg, PA; three sons, Ralph Jr, Matthew (wife Karen), and Christopher (wife Emiliya); brother, Michael; and many grandchildren and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Evelyn; his brother, David; brother-in-law, Bob; and daughter-in-law, Tammy.
Ralph attended Altoona High School where he played football, being selected to three all state teams including the Pennsylvania Big 33 in 1958. He was also on the wrestling team where he was undefeated for 2 years. Ralph attended the University of Pittsburgh on a football scholarship and started for the Panthers for three seasons. In 2006 Ralph was inducted into the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame. He worked for Scott Paper Company for 25 years, which gave the family the opportunity to live in several states around the country. He lived in San Antonio, TX for the past 10 years. Ralph was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and a devoted family man.
A private funeral service will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church or the charitable organization of your choice.
