A native of San Antonio, he was a Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 1967 graduate and in the Texas A&M Class of 1971.
Randy and Nora married in 1994 in Ft. Myers, Florida where they owned and operated Royal Palm Travel.
Randy's passion was animals and community service. Retiring to San Antonio in 2005, he served on the city's Parks & Recreation Advisory Board where he established a neighborhood community park in the Sunshine Estates area.
He was currently serving on the Animal Care Services Advisory Board where he was instrumental in getting an ACS facility in Brackenridge Park. He was the current Chairman of the Watershed Improvement Advisory Committee.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nora Slagle Murdock; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
