

Ray Jean O'Gwin, Jr., 69, devoted husband to Magdalena Medina O'Gwin for 41 years, son, inspiring brother, loving father, adoring grandfather, loyal and generous friend, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on his favorite day of the week, Sunday, February 13, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a long 5 year valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer.
Ray was born in Seagraves, Texas, on September 2, 1941, to Helen K. and Ray J. O'Gwin, Sr. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1960, Texas Tech University with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1964. He was a proud member of the Army and Air Force Reserves from 1962-1970. Ray was a proud UTSA Lifetime Alumni member and Roadrunner Athletic Fund founder. Ray and Magdalena were very involved members of their church, Western Hills Christian Church where he served in multiple leadership positions since moving to San Antonio in 1986.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Ray J. O'Gwin, Sr., mother Helen K. Rea O'Gwin and twin sister Jane O'Gwin. He is survived by his loving wife, Magdalena M. O'Gwin, daughters Cyndi and husband Armando Cavazos, three children, Hannah Isabella, Cristian Diego, and Joaquin Armando, Serena and husband Ronald L. Miranda and three children, Marco Nicolas, Sofía Elise and Adán Ray. The six grandchildren were the apple of his eye! He is also survived by his sister Sally and husband Marsh Gentry and two nephews Jordan and Zach.
We want to thank all of our family and friends for their kind words and time they spent with Ray during his last days. Ray will always be remembered by his love, kindness, generosity and as the saying goes, "never meeting a stranger!"
