CSM Raymond David McEntyre Jr. was born December 14, 1939. Ray peacefully passed away January 16, 2022. Ray was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Ray left this world fighting a tremendous battle with long term kidney issues.
Ray came from humble beginnings in Atlanta, Georgia. At the age of 18, Ray enlisted in the Army. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Command Sergeant Major quickly. Ray's commitment and respect for the Military shaped his future and his life. The Military provided him the opportunity to travel and impact many lives along the way. While stationed in France, Ray met Monique, the love of his life. Ray bravely and faithfully served our country for 31 years.
Raymond, known to many as Ray, "Pappy", or "Grandpappy" was full of life, loved to travel, cherished a fine bottle of wine, and couldn't be happier enjoying a meal amongst Friends and Family. Ray was a family man who loved celebrating family. Ray spent hours around a table telling stories of his memories spent travelling in the military with Monique, exquisite meals, hunting, and fishing. Ray loved being with the kids, Chris and Laura and great grandkids Mark and Joseph.
Ray lived life to its fullest and accomplished many achievements over his 83 years. Ray was a true testament of hard work with grace, integrity, and determination. Ray was extremely generous, loyal, and always stood behind his family.
Ray is proceeded in death by his wife Monique McEntyre. Ray is survived by his son Charly and wife Mary McEntyre, Granddaughter Laura McEntyre, Grandson Chris McEntyre and wife Marie, great Grandchildren Mark and Joseph, and his sister Patsy Faircloth. Ray also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A full military service honoring the life of CSM Raymond D. McEntyre Jr. will be held February 15"at 1300 at Fort Sam Houston cemetery in San Antonio TX.
