

Rebecca Travis, 90, passed away Sunday night. She was born in San Antonio, TX. to Daniel Arthur James and Mary Conaway James.
She worked for the U. S. civil service at Randolph, Brooks, and Ft. Sam. She was a founding member of the Susanna Dickinson Chapter NSDAR, longtime volunteer at S.E. Baptist Hospital; served on the East Central ISD school board, helped organize the East Central Schools Museum, and was a member of Resurrection United Methodist Church.
Rebecca and Clyde James, her brother, organized the Salem Cemetery Association.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lee Savoy Travis, brothers George James and wife Jessie, Joe James and wife Joyce, Bill James and wife Liddy, and Clyde James and wife Edna. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Travis and wife Jacqueline, Richard Travis and wife Melinda; grandchildren are Danielle Burgess and husband Scott, Lisa Kennemore and husband Dwayne, Jennifer Anderson and husband Jess, Richard Travis Jr., and Rebecca Rios and husband Daniel; great-grandchildren are Kathryn, Lauren, Ethan, Logan, and Mason Burgess; Emmie and Gavin Kennemore; Abby, Chase, Cammy, and Cole Rios; step-grandchildren are Aimee and Christopher Zaiontz.
We all loved her and will miss her very much.
