Born Jimmie Rexann Reid, to James Calvin and Georgia Ann (Rivers) Reid of Fort Worth, Texas on May 21, 1945, she was the first of four daughters. They were a very close-knit family and remained that way all their lives. She was brought up with values of honesty, hard work, and love of family. She never abandoned these values in her 77 years of life.
Around 1958 Jim and Georgia moved their family from Fort Worth to San Antonio, Texas. There she met her future husband, Stanley.
Stan enlisted in the Air Force in 1962 but he and Rexann waited until he finished his Air Force Service to get married on Feb 25, 1967.
They were blessed with two children, Christine and Eric. Her love of family and home kept her busy. She also worked in many different jobs and then retired after over 20 years of Civil Service at Randolph Air Force Base.
In addition to all this, she was well known for her green thumb. She amazed everyone when she took apparently dead plants and brought them back to life and “in full bloom”. She energetically enjoyed interests including ceramics, sewing, macramé, running, and Jazzercise. She was never idle.
After retirement Rexann and Stan enjoyed spending time with their two grandchildren, gardening, visiting with longtime friends, and traveling to places including Alaska and Europe. Her life was full in every respect. She embraced her life and was always “in full bloom” herself.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Calvin Reid, her mother, Georgia Ann Reid and recently her youngest sister, Penny Gay (Reid) Schober.
Rexann is survived by her husband of 55 years, Stanley Warren George, daughter, Christine Rene (George) Buchholz and husband Tim, son Eric Matthew George and wife Karen, and grandchildren, Keira Elyse George and Violet Sophia George, sister Teresa Jean (Reid) Oliver and husband Kenneth, and sister Pamela Kay (Reid) Margozewitz and brother-in-law, Patrick Henry Schober; also, nieces and nephews: Jason Reid Oliver and wife Alyce, Joshua Wayne Oliver and wife Jessica, Kenneth Mathew Oliver.
