We met through our sons...they went to school together, joined Cub Scouts and played football together. He was a good man and father, and he will be missed. My condolences to the Bocanegra family. A lot of the good times i had when i was young was with Richard. He was my skateboarding buddy. Also we saw ball lighting floating outside his house one night and thought it was a ghost!!

I met Ric when we were both very young. We grew up in the same neighborhood and I'm one of those very fortunate people that can say Ric and I were close friends for a long time. What I will remember most about Ric is that you didn't have to know him your whole life to feel like he was one of your best friends - he was so genuine, caring and full of life that all who had the blessing of spending any amount of time with him regarded him as one of the best friends they've ever had. He was truly one of a kind, and I am so thankful that God allowed me to know him for what was truly a life cut far too short. Rest in peace brother - I love you.

Bocanegra-as I use to call you my friend through our adult life growing up together. I know I got the news of your passing as of late, but, I wish I got to see you one last time before you went to be with your mom. I just want you to know I hold our memories of us in my heart and in my soul. The last couple of years or so of our friendship we did not hang out much like we use to;however, I still had the pleasure of receiving hugs and having small chit chats with you when you came by the grocery store I worked at. You always took care of me-the time in Central High School when you brought yourself and a dozen plus of your closest friends to back me up in a fight. I Love You Bocanegra and I Miss you!
