

Richard A. Barrett, Colonel U.S. Army (ret) age 71, passed away on October 11, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, graduating from The Ohio State University in 1963. Richard then entered the military as an officer in the Medical Service Corp, serving 27 years of active duty in Hospital Administration.
Following a successful military career, Richard became a CPA spending 10 years with the Daughters of Charity Services of San Antonio as their CFO. After retirement, he continued to enjoy his lifelong passions for cars, bicycles, and travel.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kay; and sons, Brett (Lisa) and Shawn (Carrie); step granddaughters Riley and Avery; brothers Ron, Dan (Mary), and Pat (Vicky); sisters Celine (Dave) Dittman and Denise (Paul) Spohn; and many nieces and nephews.
