

Richard Harold Hill, 88, peacefully left his earthly home on May 2, 2024. Richard was born in Ft. Worth to Harry Haynes Hill and Ruth Lillian Norman on November 3, 1935. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1954 and joined the United States Air Force Reserves, serving until 1962. Richard received training at DeVry Institute in Electronic Instrumentation and Control in 1963. His first jobs were at Convair in Ft. Worth, and Boeing in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Pampa, Texas in 1965 to work for Celanese Chemical Corporation as an Instrument Specialist. He remained with Celanese for 32 years, retiring in 1998.
Richard married Wanetta Bayless in 1974, in Pampa. While in Pampa, Richard was an active member of First Baptist Church. He sang in the choir, singing solos and playing major parts in their yearly Christmas and Easter productions. He loved teaching the Bible and taught sixth graders and adult Sunday School classes. During his lifetime some of his hobbies were weightlifting, dark room photography, bowling, boating, art, and travel. His favorite pastimes were reading and studying the Bible and taking care of his family. He loved the Lord and loved sharing the Word.
In 2008, he and Wanetta moved to San Antonio, Texas. He loved doing home improvements, being surrounded by and supporting his family, and helping his neighbors.
Richard is survived by his wife, Wanetta; sister, Paula Barrios and husband, Joe of St. Augustine, Florida; daughter, Kimberly Hoover and wife, Lynn Hackney of New York City, NY; daughter, Kate Juengerman and husband James of Grand Canyon, Arizona; son, Damian Hill of San Antonio; daughter, Megan Di Stefano-Hill and wife Sara of San Antonio; son, Nathanael Hill and wife, Tomoko of San Antonio; grandchildren Stephanie Boyar(Shane) of Richmond, Virginia; Lauren Hoover of San Francisco, Ca.; Leda Juengerman (Sam) of Dallas, Texas; Virgil Juengerman of Dallas; Quintin Juengerman of Anchorage, Alaska; Naiya and Aiden Hill of San Antonio, Texas; and two great grandchildren Finn and Ada Boyar of Richmond, Virginia.
